
What is the CO2 Fractional Laser?

What is the treatment like?
The laser resurfacing CO2 is done under topical anesthesia. The fraxel laser works layer by layer of the skin, vaporizing the water from the cells of the epidermis and forcing the tissue to regenerate itself.
Through its application, the laser causes thousands of micro lesions causing a production of collagen and elastin, the new skin replaces the damaged tissue improving its surface, causing an almost complete renewal.
The Fraxel Laser CO2 manages to improve, and sometimes eliminate superficial and medium wrinkles, restoring firmness to the skin and attenuating spots.
Who are the best candidates for a Fraxel Laser CO2?
Men and women who want a change in the appearance of their skin and whom have realistic expectations about what the treatment can offer.

What are the results I can expect?

How many sessions of Fraxel Laser CO2 are necessary?
The number of sessions varies according to the depth of the expression lines, scars or blemishes to be treated. In general, between 1-3 sessions are usually necessary, however, the deeper they are, a greater number of sessions can be expected.
The sessions are carried out with a period of 4-5 weeks between each one, once the skin has completely healed.
What are the care after a Fraxel Laser CO2
Treatment is not painful, although slight discomfort or burning sensation should be noted during and for the next 24 hours after treatment. The skin may become red and inflamed for the first few days after treatment. Likewise, the skin will have a brown appearance due to the micro scabs that will form the first 5-7 days and will then renew itself, turning to a pinkish tone.
The recommended care for two weeks after treatment is:
- Avoid direct contact with the sun, otherwise there may be changes in the color of the skin.
- Use sun protection (even if it is indoors), cleansers and creams suitable for each skin type.
- DO NOT EXPOSE TO SOURCES OF HEAT (Cooking, steam baths, campfires, etc).
It is normal to feel swelling, it will decrease in the next days after the treatment. As it is not a non-invasive method, it does not require sick leave.
