Belotero® is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler, made with the same hydrating and volumizing component as skin, making it the right choice for reducing the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles in a natural way.

Belotero® is specially designed to blend into the tissue for subtle and even results, without changing the natural contour of the face. Unlike other fillers, you won’t notice the implant but will surely notice the rejuvenating results.

This product stands out for its viscosity and its high level of cohesion that allows patients to get very natural results. In addition, it also aims to increase the elasticity and plasticity of the skin, giving a more youthful and well-rested appearance.

Belotero® filler line consists of 5 different products, which can be used separately or in combination. Let’s see how these products differ:

  1. Belotero Hydro®: its shape combines hyaluronic acid with glycerol, to offer better hydration to the face and make the skin more luminous, toned and elastic. It can be used for the face, neck and hands.
  2. Belotero Soft®: Hyaluronic acid is used to hydrate the skin and improve the appearance of lighter wrinkles. It’s suitable for the treatment of wrinkles around the eyes and lips or on the forehead.
  3. Belotero Balance®: the high level of cohesion of this product allows it to act on different types of wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds, glabellar and perilabial wrinkles.
  4. Belotero Intense®: characterized by its ability to retain water, which allows great moisturizing power. It’s mainly used for deeper wrinkles, such as those of the marionette line and to increase the lips’ volume. The results can be very natural and balanced.
  5. Belotero Volume®: perfect for restoring volume thanks to its malleability and plasticity. It’s used in particular for the cheek area and to reshape and balance the profile of the face.

How long does the procedure take?

Once you decide to get this treatment, the doctor will ask about your medical history, current medication, and any other relevant medical information. During the treatment, the product is injected into the specific area to be treated using a needle or cannula. The treatment doesn’t take that long, the application normally lasts around 30 minutes.

Does it hurt?

When injected into the skin to correct lines, wrinkles, sculpt the contour, or rehydrate, the treatment is relatively painless. Some people describe the treatment as slightly bothersome. Belotero fillers are available with lidocaine which helps to reduce the painful sensation and improve your comfort.

Will the treated area become hard or strange?

Belotero® integrates so easily into the skin tissue itself that, unlike other fillers, you are unlikely to feel it. This is especially important in areas like the lips, where you’ll like to see results but not necessarily notice a difference.

When can I get back to normal activities?

Some patients experience swelling or redness after injection, which generally disappears after a few days. Some patients return to work immediately after treatment. As Belotero® is applied by injection, you may experience slight bruising (which can be disguised with concealer).

can you see the results right away?

Yes, the aesthetic results are immediate. As the result is less invasive than surgery or other cosmetic procedures, you will be able to continue with your daily activities as soon as the treatment is finished.

How long will the results last?

One of the benefits of Belotero fillers is that the effects are very long-lasting, between 9 and 18 months, but they are not permanent. The effect time depends on many factors, such as the type of treatment, the treated area, each person’s skin type, skin condition, lifestyle and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are recommended. During the follow-up visit, the doctor will decide if it’s convenient to inject more product to improve the appearance of the initial treatment. When talking about Belotero® Hydro, you will notice a big improvement in your skin complexion after the first session. However, to optimize long-term results and a high level of satisfaction, your doctor will recommend 2-3 consecutive sessions (2-3 weeks apart). The treatments will be less frequent later, they will be 2 or 3 a year depending on the patient’s needs.

Does the application of Belotero® have
any risk or adverse effect?

Belotero fillers are based on hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the skin. This way they have less probability to cause an allergic reaction and no prior testing is needed. However, injection-related reactions such as slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising and pain at the injection spot may occur. The completely normal reactions are generally mild to moderate and generally disappear shortly after injection. They usually go away in one or two days.

Be sure to tell your doctor before treatment about all allergies, especially if you are allergic to lidocaine. Discuss with the doctor any adverse incident and/or reaction after the treatment. At Baja Plastic Surgery we can solve all your doubts regarding this treatment.
